So, yesterday, the date stated for commissioning the artists for Wild in Art's 'Year of the Bus' Sculpture trail, came and went. I was pretty disappointed, assuming I hadn't been successful, I emailed the organisation to see if I could get some feedback on my application. This morning, still nothing.
Then, I received an email. 'Many thanks for your submission......we have had a wonderful response to our call for designs...... boo! :( The usual let them down gently email......oh wait! Doesn't that say 'I am very pleased to let you know that your design Eco-Bus has been chosen for inclusion?' YAY! That'll teach me for assuming I won't be selected!
Out of 125 entries, they have chosen 75 to be on display at a sponsor's event tomorrow, including mine! There, 60 designs will be chosen to be part of the trail! Fingers crossed! Note to self - you are capable! Even if I don't get through to actually make the bus, the fact I got through the first round shows that my work is good enough! A very happy Rachel.
Below, some pictures from today's outdoor, sunny working day! I arranged all my colours into a rainbow to try and decide which colours actually go together. I realised I need to give myself an inspiration boost and organising my colours usually helps! It worked, I had a sudden urge to create and spent at least 5 hours creating, resulting in a successful piece! Smiles all round.
I have decided to start a blog for several reasons. To help me remember all the things that inspire me, to share these with others and to keep a record of everything that I am doing. I will update my blog regularly. Feel free to share and comment on posts!
