So, I have sent off my submission! I spent quite some time on the two designs I have created and have also tested the materials that I would use to create one of them. This involved water-proofing using yacht varnish and spray lacquer - it worked! It is extremely strong, so no pieces can be removed easily and it is waterproof :) Very pleased to have overcome this hurdle. I have finished off the edges of a few of my mosaics too, so they are nice and neat.
I attended the opening night for Fareham Art Trail, which was a great experience and it was lovely to meet Beth, who organised the event, as well as other artists exhibiting. Beth mentioned that there may be other opportunities for pop-up exhibitions and a possible craft shop/gallery, which would be great!
Last week, I popped into the Rum's Eg in Romsey and met a lovely lady, who spoke to me about possibly setting up a local art group to meet and chat/share ideas. I have given her my details and hope that this will happen, as I would love to get to know more local artists. Whilst I was there, I picked up the forms for submitting your work for exhibition and have since filled and dropped these into the gallery, so hopefully I will have some work on show there.
Next aim - to make a mosaic sphere (possibly pinks!). I will be starting this today, so piccies to follow!
I have decided to start a blog for several reasons. To help me remember all the things that inspire me, to share these with others and to keep a record of everything that I am doing. I will update my blog regularly. Feel free to share and comment on posts!
