On Saturday (21st June) I attended the first of four photography sessions with John Combes at Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, Ringwood. This was such a great experience - if a little complicated!
I had decided, after buying a digital SLR for Christmas, that I wanted to make the most of it, by getting to grips with the manual settings, rather than just using the auto mode, with the aim of taking my own photos for inspiration and to get better at photographing my own work.
We learnt all about 'f'' stops (focal range), ISO, shutter speeds and how to tell if your photo has been over exposed. It was so useful and I thoroughly enjoyed having the time to practice this after we had learnt the basics.
Next week, we will be looking at composition and the basics again but in greater detail - I can't wait!
I have decided to start a blog for several reasons. To help me remember all the things that inspire me, to share these with others and to keep a record of everything that I am doing. I will update my blog regularly. Feel free to share and comment on posts!
